Nandalal Bose Gallery – 392.28 sq m (4220.92 sq ft)

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India’s first Education Minister, is the pre-eminent place of cultural diplomacy. Its mandate is to engage in a creative dialogue with other nations showcasing the diverse and rich cultural tradition of India while promoting dialogue with them through academic and cultural exchanges.

The gallery is on the 3rd floor of ICCR, is the largest of the galleries. Running in a semi circle. this gallery has benches in the middle affording visitors some rest and an imposing view of the lawns in front or the Fountain Court at the back. As the focus of the ICCR is to promote culture beyond borders, it is intended that this centre will explore and promote meaningful cultural, academic, and artistic exchanges in India’s eastern and north eastern region, and beyond in South Asia. The commitment has been to nurture and work with thousands of young emerging artists, researchers, practitioners and artisans by offering them a platform and supporting them in the every stages of their career. Their programs focus on research and academia through community centric activities. Preserving our ancient and contemporary arts heritage through the archives, gallery spaces, promotion of art and the cultural practices constitute a large part of the diverse programing at the institute. Also every year the Gallery has been showcasing works of professional artists. The students as well as established artists await every year to see, learn and enjoy these works of the Masters.

Eligibility & Submission Criteria:

• Medium: Any Medium

• Age: 13–65 years

• Originality: Artworks must be original

• Minimum Submission: At least 2 artworks

• Size: less than 24X30 Inches

Additional Criteria for Photography:

• Images must be original and captured by the submitting photographer.

• Both Camera and Mobile photography are accepted.

• Both edited and unedited photographs are allowed; however, excessive AI-generated imagery is not permitted.

• Photographs must be submitted in high-resolution JPEG format.

• If shortlisted, the photographer must provide a printed and framed version for display. (Size of frame: 12"X18" Inches)

Additional Criteria for Sculpture:

• All forms and medium of Sculpture works are accepted.

• Sizes may vary from 1ft to 4ft.

• After the selection, registration fee may vary with the sizes.

Registration Fee (Payable After Selection):

• For size below 18" × 24" – ₹1200 per frame.

• For size 24" × 30" – ₹1500 per frame.

Submission Deadline: 15th January 2026

RULES & REGULATIONS:

The theme or the subject for this exhibition is open for every categories. So it's based on an OPEN THEME.
Interested artists has to submit minimum 2 to 5 artworks/photographs, including an Artist's Bio Data (in PDF/JPEG form) for selection.
Photographs taken from any device is accepted including digital camera, film, and mobile phones; however the quality of the photograph should be adequate to print in 12×18 inches.
The artworks/photographs must be original work of the artists. Any claim on copyright will be taken seriously and decision of the selection panel will be final.
The last date of submission for selection is 15th January 2026.
After submission, we will forward the artworks to our selection panel and will send you an email after approval of the artworks. The selection process may take upto 2 to 4 working days.
For Photographer, the printing format should be in matt finish with one inches mounting and wooden/fibre frame. It is good to avoid glass covering.
Every participants will have to pay the registration amount within the provided time into the respective bank account that will be provided to the artists after the approval of their artworks.
Physical presence of the participants is not mandatory for all the days. But it will be great to be inside the gallery during the exhibition days.
On the last day of the exhibition, artist or someone on behalf of them will have to be there to collect the artworks back. Otherwise it will be couriered back to them and artists will have to pay the shipping charges.
Artists residing outside the state (West Bengal) may courier their selected artworks for the exhibition to the given address below, before the scheduled time.

Interested artists can submit their artworks for selection to our mail id or you can also send it through WhatsApp in document or JPEG format and also mention the size, medium and surface of the artworks. Also you can submit your artworks by clicking "REGISTER NOW" button, below.
