Birla Academy of Art & Culture
Birla Academy of Art and Culture was founded in 1967 with a vision to encourage and foster growth of arts, crafts and cultural activities at the heart of Calcutta. Our founders Late Basant Kumar and Sarala Birla had established this institution envisioning it as a space for learning and scholarship, made accessible to all and with knowledge sharing at its core. In its 57 years our commitment has been to nurture and work with thousands of young emerging artists, researchers, practitioners and artisans by offering them a platform and supporting them in the early stages of their careers. The Academy’s programs focus on research and academia through community centric activities. Preserving our ancient and contemporary arts heritage through our museum, archives and gallery spaces and promotion of art and cultural practices constitute a large part of our diverse programing at the institute. Also every year the Gallery has been showcasing works of professional artists. The students as well as established artists await every year to see, learn and enjoy these works of the Masters.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
Calling all artists and photographers to apply for the upcoming exhibition "CHROMATIC SPECTRUM" (An Exhibition of Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Digital Art, Tapestry, Fluid & Resin Art etc) organised by the Artverse at Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata from 28th July to 2nd August 2026.
The theme or the subject for this exhibition is open for every categories. So it's based on an OPEN THEME.
Interested artists has to submit minimum 2 to 5 artworks/photographs, including an Artist's Bio Data (in PDF/JPEG form) for selection. Minimum of 2 artworks are mandetory for the exhibition.
Photographs taken from any device is accepted including digital camera, film, and mobile phones; however the quality of the photograph should be adequate to print in 12×18 inches.
The artworks/photographs must be original work of the artists. Any claim on copyright will be taken seriously and decision of the selection panel will be final.
Submission Deadline: 15th July 2026.
After submission, we will forward the artworks to our selection panel and will send you an email after approval of the artworks. The selection process may take upto 2 to 4 working days.
For Photographer, the printing format should be in matt finish with one inches mounting and wooden/fibre frame. It is good to avoid glass covering.
Registration fee:
₹1200 per frame (for 18" x 24" inches)
₹1500 per frame (for 24" x 30" inches)
₹1800 per frame (for 3 x 4 feet)
Every participants will have to pay the registration amount within the provided time into the respective bank account that will be provided to the artists after the approval of their artworks.
Physical presence of the participants is not mandatory for all the days.
On the last day of the exhibition, artist or someone on behalf of them will have to be there to collect the artworks back.
Artists residing outside the state (West Bengal) may courier their selected artworks for the exhibition to the given address below, before the scheduled time.

Interested artists can submit their artworks for selection to our mail id or you can also send it through WhatsApp in document or JPEG format and also mention the size, medium and surface of the artworks. Also you can submit your artworks by clicking "REGISTER NOW" button, below.
